Seppeltsfield is one of Australia’s most historic wineries, established in the Barossa in 1851.

Today, the first inductee into the James Halliday inaugural Hall of Fame: Wine has been awarded to Seppeltsfield, for the iconic 1923 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny. This is the highest accolade awarded in the Australian wine industry.

The 2024 Halliday Wine Companion marks the inaugural appointment of this award. An eligible wine will have won its category in this guide on five occasions or more.

James Halliday AM said:

This is the 46th consecutive 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny to be released from the historic 1878 Centennial Cellar and is rated ‘Exceptional’ in the Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine. James Halliday AM, has awarded the wine 100 Points.
