JAMFACTORY | DRAWING NATIVE BOTANICALS WORKSHOP
SATURDAY 24TH, AUGUST 2024

Enhance your appreciation of South Australian plant life in this guided drawing workshop with visual artist Louise Flaherty.

This workshop includes an introduction to various native plants and instruction on drawing and painting them with white ink on black paper. Participants will create a large-scale collaborative drawing and an individual piece to take home.

Additionally, participants will receive two native tubestock plants from Barossa Bush Gardens, a community nursery with about 130 species of plants native to the Barossa region.

This beginner-friendly and age-inclusive workshop is suitable for ages 10 and up, with participants under 16 requiring an accompanying adult. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.

JAMFACTORY | CYANOTYPE PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
SUNDAY 15TH, SEPTEMBER 2024

Join Adelaide-based paper artist and printmaker Ellen Schlobohm for a hands-on introduction to cyanotype printmaking, a process that uses UV-sensitive materials and ultraviolet light to create cyan-blue prints.

Participants will learn to use plant material in the cyanotype process, focusing on composition, texture, and effects. Weather permitting, the workshop will begin with a short forage around the Seppeltsfield Estate for greenery. A variety of dried botanicals and other materials will be provided, and students are welcome to bring their own plant material.

Participants will create several cyanotype prints, such as art prints, cards, and bookmarks, using natural sunlight or UV lamps if necessary.

This beginner-friendly workshop provides all required tools and materials.

JAMFACTORY | WOODEN SPOON MAKING WORKSHOP
SUNDAY 8TH, SEPTEMBER 2024

Join Anna Lane of Sawdust Lane Woodworks to create a custom wooden serving spoon. Starting with a spoon blank, participants will personalize their pieces, adding unique design elements.

Anna will guide you through marking out, shaping with rasps and files, and finally sanding and oiling for a smooth, food-safe finish.

Choose from a variety of spoon blanks in different shapes and timbers such as Mahogany, Tasmanian Huon Pine, and Queensland Kauri.

This beginner-friendly workshop supplies all necessary tools and materials, requiring no prior experience—just a bit of elbow grease!
