PROHIBITION POP-UP GIN BAR AT SEPPELTSFIELD
OCTOBER LONG WEEKEND 5 - 7

Prohibition Liquor Co to re-awaken the 147-year-old Distillery at Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley, with a pop-up gin bar this October and Tasting Room opening early 2025.

In an exciting move for the popular South Australian distillery, Prohibition Liquor Co will re-ignite one of Australia’s oldest historic distilleries on the famous Seppeltsfield Estate in the Barossa Valley.

The distillery, originally built by the Seppelt family and officially opened on November 16th, 1877, is situated near the historic 1888 Gravity Cellar. The distillery produced all manner of spirits including brandy, rum and gin as well as bitters and liqueurs, winning many prestigious awards. The operation supplied products all over Australia, before it was decommissioned in the 1970s and has been sitting dormant since.

Prohibition’s production team commenced bottling and distribution from the site in early August 2024, but the building of a Tasting Room begins this month, with a plan to open early 2025.

To celebrate the new site, Prohibition will be launching a pop-up gin bar starting on the October Long Weekend, with indoor and outdoor gin bars, on the picturesque lawns and inside the yet-to-open future Tasting Room space.

Expect G&Ts, tasting paddles and some great new release gins including a sneak peak of 2024 Prohibition Christmas Gin and the new Chihuly Gin in collaboration with Chihuly studios and the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.

There will be live music on Saturday and Sunday and a great Long Weekend vibe. Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the October Long Weekend from 11.30-5pm and then weekends on Saturdays and Sundays from 11.30-5pm in a pop-up format until we launch the new venue officially in 2025.
