Seppeltsfield Self-Guided History Experience
Please join me, Charlie Seppelt – a fifth generation Seppelt family and Senior Winemaker at the Seppeltsfield Estate, to learn about the history of the of Vinegar Factory – now home to Vasse Virgin Natural Olive Oil Skincare.
The Seppeltsfield Estate Vinegar Factory was opened on site in 1882 with Benno Seppelt my great grandfather, looking to diversify into the manufacturing of cordials, vinegar and other liqueur products after the success of his wine production. The Vinegar factory operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from 1882, all the way through until 2000, spanning over 118 years.
Some of the old vinegar vats from this building can be seen inside the JamFactory Craft and Design Studios, and alongside the main entrance to the car park.
We encourage you to visit Vasse Virgin at the Seppeltsfield Estate where you can witness the products being hand-made, or join a workshop to get hands on, including the likes of olive oil or perfume.
