Seppeltsfield Self-Guided History Experience

9. Prohibition Distillery

Please join me, Warren Randall – the Executive Chairman and Proprietor of the Seppeltsfield Estate, to learn about the history of the Distillery, which now houses Prohibition Liquor Co.

By 1875 the Seppeltsfield Estate had grown to 560 acres, and in 1877 Oscar Benno built a new distillery largely of his own design. The Distillery produced mostly brandy spirit using the 9,000L pot still located within the building. Other productions in the distillery at that time included bitters and liqueurs, which were sold all over Australia.

Seppeltsfield Estate Distillery has been re-awakened by Prohibition Liquor Co, a local South Australian brand, who produce gin, craft spirits and liqueurs, featuring only the finest quality botanicals.

They offer a range of tasting experiences and signature cocktails.

I encourage you to refer to the map on this website for the route to continue to hear the Seppeltsfield Estate history. The location of the next podcast – the Vinegar Factory which is now home to Vasse Virgin Natural Olive Oil Skin Care.
