Seppeltsfield was established in 1851 in the Barossa Valley and is one of the most iconic wineries in Australia.
Seppeltsfield is owned by The Randall Wine Group, established in 1978, led by Executive Chairman and Proprietor, Warren Randall.
The Randall Wine Group is Australia’s largest private luxury vineyard holder spanning over 9230 acres, together with an expanding portfolio of luxury wine brands, including Penny’s Hill and Gemtree Organic Wines in McLaren Vale.
Today, Seppeltsfield has acquired a 230 acre Lyndoch vineyard in the Barossa Valley, from the ASX listed, Australian Vintage Limited, AVL.
The Lyndoch vineyard was previously part of the original Chateau Yaldara property, developed by Hermann Thumm in 1946.
The vineyard is planted to mature Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and Grenache and the entire crop with be crushed through the 1888 Gravity Flow winery at Seppeltsfield in 2025.
Since Chinese tariffs were removed from bottled Australian wines on the 28th March 2024, exports have skyrocketed, with Australian winemakers shipping $86M worth of wine to China in the first month.
Seppeltsfield’s strategic purchase of the AVL Lyndoch vineyard is to specifically feed the newly created demand for luxury Australian wine to China.
The Barossa Valley vineyard is the first vineyard sale in Australia after the tariffs, specifically purchased for export to China.
June was an intensive month of Chinese VIP visitation for Seppeltsfield.
Seppeltsfield Executive Chairman and Proprietor, Warren Randall met with the number two in China, the Premier of the State Council, Qiang Li, the Chinese Minister for Trade, Wang Wentao, the Chairman of COFCO Corporation, Jun Lyu, the Chairman of COFCO Great Wall wines, Feng Gao, the Chief Winemaker of Great Wall wines, Zefu Li and the Chief Winemaker of Changyu Pioneer wines, Dr Li.

Seppeltsfield and The Randall Wine Group achieved 100% sustainable certification in early 2023.
