    Seppeltsfield has an unparalleled selection of vineyard holdings crossing the Western ridge of the Barossa, including throughout the prized sub-regions of Stonewell, Greenock, Marananga and Seppeltsfield itself. Many of the vineyards planted in and around these regions are well over 50 years in age, prospering in ironstone laden, red-brown earths and form the soul of several of the Barossa's icon-level wines. It is this enviable collection of vineyards which has become the genesis of Über Shiraz. Über is a hand selected Shiraz expression of specific vineyards, individual blocks and prized parcels - the absolute very best identified by the Seppeltsfield winemaking and viticultural teams in any given year. Vintage quality itself also determines the release of Über Shiraz each year.


    The 2012 Über Shiraz was crafted in the 1888 Gravity Cellar. Built into the hillside on a series of terraces, the world-class winery is geared towards small batch parcels for super premium table wine. Gravity guides the flow of grapes down through the winery to deliver gentle extraction of colour, flavour and tannin.


    The Shiraz was fermented in open top fermenters and then matured for 18 months in 40% new and 60% seasoned French oak hogsheads. The wine was rested and matured in bottle before release.
