Unearthed@Seppeltsfield - Vinegar Haus

07:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Thu 20 Apr 2017

70 years ago, Hilton Mervyn Seppelt co-founded the very first Barossa Vintage Festival. Hilton - an inaugurated Baron of the Barossa - was also credited with establishing Seppeltsfield’s remarkable Sherry collection, having secretly obtained flor-yeast culture from a Spanish Bodega in the 1930s.

To honour Hilton and to celebrate opening of the 2017 Barossa Vintage Festival, we invite you to a night of Spanish-style cuisine, as part of our unearthed@seppeltsfield pop-up restaurant series.

Held in the Seppeltsfield 1882 Vinegar Haus, expect Spanish tapas-style delights by Executive Chef Owen Andrews, backed by a rock-star Seppeltsfield drinks list. A wine lounge featuring Sherry-spiked contemporary cocktails and live music will be sure to kick of your Barossa Vintage Festival celebrations in style.

On offer on the night will be an incredible opportunity to indulge in a tasting of 1947 Seppeltsfield Para Vintage Tawny, conceived the same year as the inaugural Barossa Vintage Festival.

Entry is free with PAYG food and wine available, however booking you space is absolutely essential.

Barossa Trust Mark Trail - Seppeltsfield Centenary Tour

10:30 AM - 05:00 PM
Fri 19 May - Tue 23 May 2017

$125.00 per person

Seppeltsfield’ s history is punctuated with many moments of visionary foresight. Seppeltsfield’s founder, Joseph Seppelt and his eldest son, Benno, were particularly renowned for their longer term vision for the estate, closely following custodianship principles to ensure a legacy was passed on to future generations.

This is no more evident than Benno Seppelt’s inception of the Centennial Cellar - a truly unique and unparalleled system of maturing single barrels of vintage Tawny for 100 years before release.

Awarded the Barossa Trust mark, the Centenary Tour is a once in a lifetime experience.

Visit the Seppelt family homestead, followed by a private tasting of super-premium fortified wines in our VIP mezzanine lounge. The tour culminates in the 1878 Centennial Cellar, where you will taste your year of birth Tawny, direct from barrel, as well as the legendary 100 year old Para Vintage Tawny.

Available daily, bookings required.
